  • Visit Hampton Court Palace Visit the lovely gardens and State Apartments of Hampton Court Palace built by Cardinal Wolsey in 1514 and given to Henry VIII. There is a fascinating Tudor Kitchen and the famous Maze in the gardens.

  • Runnymede Leaving Hampton Court your journey takes you through Old Windsor, Windsor Great Park, past the Field of Runnymede, where King John sealed Magna Carta and past the John F Kennedy Memorial.

  • Lunch Cruise on the River Thames Lunch is taken during a cruise on the River Thames from Runnymede to Windsor.

  • Visit Windsor Castle and The State Apartments Visit Windsor Castle, the Queen’s weekend residence which has been a royal castle since the predecessor of the Round Tower was built by William the Conqueror in the 11th century. You have a guided tour of the Castle Precincts and see the State Apartments (when available) with their many Royal treasures and St George’s Chapel. Time permitting visits can also be made to the gallery, Albert Memorial Chapel and Queen Mary’s Dolls House.

OXFORD, STRATFORD AND WINDSOR CASTLE

  • Visit Oxford Oxford has one of the oldest and most famous Universities in Britain, consisting of a large complex of colleges built over a period of several centuries. Other famous buildings such as the Sheldonian Theatre and the great Bodleian Library are found here too. A short stop is made with a visit to one of the colleges or principle buildings.

  • Stratford-Upon-Avon You pass the Cotswolds on the way to the birthplace of William Shakespeare for sight-seeing or shopping. You can see many of the places associated with the Bard, such as the Grammar School where Shakespeare received his education, the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, erected to his memory, and a visit is made to Shakespeare’s Birthplace. You see Anne Hathaway’s Cottage in the village of Shottery on the way to Warwick.

  • Warwick Castle The splendid medieval fortress of Warwick Castle is almost unique in its completeness, though modernised internally in the 17th century. You will see the popular ‘Kingmaker - A preparation for battle’ exhibition and also the new ‘Death or Glory’ attraction in the Castle’s Armoury. The magnificent Great Hall and the State Apartments contain a fine collection of armour and works of art, whilst the rooms where the family lived until 1978 come alive with wax reproductions of the great people who attended a Royal house party in 1898. Among these are two American ladies-Jenny Jerome, the mother of Sir Winston Churchill and Consuelo Vanderbilt, the grandmother of the present Duke of Marlborough.

  • Stonehenge & Bath This is a tour of total contrast spanning 3,500 years of history visiting the ancient stones of Stonehenge and the fine city of Bath, associated both with the Romans and Regency England.

  • Bath You see Bath, built by the Romans 2,000 years ago and revived by fashionable Georgian Society who came with Royalty to "take the waters" in the 18th century. The tour includes a visit to the famous Roman Baths where the cure used to be taken by fashionable society. There is also the opportunity to view the 15th century Bath Abbey and the charming squares and crescents. You also see the River Avon and delightful Pulteney Bridge and can browse among the many antique and craft shops.

  • Stonehenge Stonehenge looms in lonely majesty over Salisbury Plain. Bronze-age Stonehenge with its towering 50-ton pillars was created by a unique civilisation in Britain more than 3,000 years ago and in more recent times has been a sanctuary for various religious cults.
